Maintaining your Services list gives your team a consistent set of service items that can be used when building Quotes, Work Orders, and other service-related records in SwimTech. From the **Home** screen, select **Services** to open the Services LIST. > **Tip:** SwimTech includes starter templates to help a new subscriber get started. Review these Services and customize them for the way your company operates rather than starting from scratch. ## 1. Services LIST — Find and Manage Services The **Services LIST** displays the Services currently available in your SwimTech account.

From the LIST you can use the available controls to: * **Search** for a Service. * **Filter or Sort** the list to make Services easier to find. * Select a Service to open it in **READ** mode. * Use **+** to create a new Service. * Use the **three-dot menu** for additional actions available for the Services list. ## 2. Review a Service — READ Mode Select a Service from the LIST to open its **READ** screen. READ mode lets you review the Service before deciding whether changes are needed.

Use READ mode to confirm that the Service represents the work your company provides. Review the information displayed and use **Edit** when you need to make changes. > **Best practice:** Use clear, consistent Service names. This makes Services easier for your team to recognize when they are selected elsewhere in SwimTech. ## 3. Create or Edit a Service — EDIT Mode To create a Service, select **+** from the Services LIST. To modify an existing Service, open it in READ mode and select **Edit**.

Enter or update the Service information required by your company. The Service should be named and described clearly enough that office personnel and technicians understand what type of work it represents. When you are finished, select **Save** to store your changes. ## 4. Using Services in SwimTech Services provide reusable definitions of the work your company performs. Once your Services are configured, they can be selected as you build the customer-service workflow instead of repeatedly entering the same type of work. A typical flow is: **Service → Quote → Work Order → Scheduled Service → Activity Report → Invoice** For example, a Service used on a Quote can help define the work being proposed to the customer. When that work becomes a Work Order, the Service helps communicate what the technician is expected to perform. ## Maintaining Your Services List Review the Services list periodically as your business changes. Add Services when your company begins offering new types of work and update existing Services when the way you describe or perform that work changes. > **Remember:** Services describe **work your company performs**. Products describe **items or materials** used or sold while performing that work. Keeping these definitions separate makes Quotes, Work Orders, Activity Reports, and reporting easier to understand. --- # Agent Instructions This documentation is published with GitBook.
